Unfortunately, the panda bear does not reproduce in captivity very well. Another problem for pandas is poachers. Poacher’s snares are the second biggest cause of panda deaths, after habitat destruction.
Can the panda be save? Of course! All it needs is bamboo and peace. Every panda population should have at least two bamboo species available to lessen the impact of a die-off.
Poaching must be controlled. Breeding in zoos must be successful for restocking pandas in their original homeland. A great commitment by the Chinese for future panda’s survival is underway. Wildlife reserves are being built with veterinary hospitals and nurseries.
