The Confederate artillery shut down any advancement that was tried by the Union. Union suffered 1,84 dead, ,600 wounded and 1,78 missing. The Confederates suffered 608 dead, 4,116 wounded, and 65 missing.


The third and final battle in the movie was Chacellorsville. After the disaster in Fredericksburg, General Hooker replaces Burnside and moves 70,000 Union troops behind General Lee in Chacellorsville and 40,000 more under Sedwick in Fredericksburg. Lee decides to divide his army again and send Jackson on a 1-mile march southwest to emerge on the Union’s right flank, where Howard’s division is positioned in a dense wooded area. When it turns night General Jackson is riding back to camp when he and his Generals are ambushed and his own forces shoot him. He was shot in the hand and chest. They had to amputate his left arm. General Jackson eventually dies of Pneumonia. The Union suffers 1,606 dead, ,76 wounded, and 5, missing. The Confederates suffered 1,64 dead, ,106 wounded, and 1,708 missing.
